Funky Trunks is the mens half of the Funkita family, and it's the brand that made loud prints normal on Australian pool decks. Trunks are the biggest part of this range, alongside training jammers and classic briefs — all built in C-Infinity, the same 100% Italian polyester Funkita uses.

Sidewinder, Classic or Jammer?

Sidewinder trunks are the signature cut — a square-leg trunk with a slightly longer side than a classic, giving more coverage without the length of a jammer. They're the most popular thing Funky Trunks makes and the easiest entry point if you're moving away from briefs.

Classic trunks are the shorter square-leg cut — minimal coverage, minimal drag, and closer to a traditional swim short in shape.

Training jammers extend to just above the knee for swimmers who want full leg coverage and mild compression through squad sets.

Classic briefs are the racing cut — least drag, most freedom at the hip, still what most competitive swimmers train in.

What is C-Infinity fabric?

C-Infinity is Funky Trunks' exclusive fabric, made from 100% Italian polyester. With no elastane in it there's nothing for chlorine to break down, which is what causes ordinary swimwear to go baggy, fade and thin out. Funky Trunks rates C-Infinity as having exceptional strength and retaining durability well beyond conventional elastane swimwear fabrics. In practice that means the print stays as loud in month six as it was in week one. Our swimwear fabrics guide sets it against Speedo Endurance+, Arena MaxLife and Zoggs Ecolast.

Getting the size right

Funky Trunks is sized by waist measurement. C-Infinity is a polyester fabric and won't stretch to fit the way an elastane blend does, so buy to your current waist rather than sizing up for comfort. Our size charts cover Funky Trunks along with every brand we stock.

Common questions

What's the difference between Funky Trunks and Funkita?
They're the same company. Funky Trunks is the mens and boys range; Funkita is the womens and girls range. Both use the same C-Infinity fabric, and prints are frequently released as matching pairs across the two.

What is the difference between Sidewinder and Classic trunks?
Both are square-leg trunks. Sidewinder trunks have a slightly longer side length, giving a little more coverage on the thigh. Classic trunks are the shorter, more traditional cut. Fit and fabric are otherwise the same.

Is Funky Trunks chlorine resistant?
Yes. Funky Trunks swimwear is made from C-Infinity, a 100% Italian polyester with no elastane content, which is what gives it its chlorine resistance. It holds colour and shape substantially longer than conventional elastane swimwear.

How should I care for Funky Trunks swimwear?
Rinse in cold fresh water immediately after every swim, squeeze rather than wring, and dry flat in the shade. Avoid the washing machine, dryer, fabric softener and hot spas — heat damages swimwear faster than chlorine does.
