Boys Funky Trunks Swimwear
Funky Trunks is the brand boys actually want to wear to squad, and it's the deepest boys range we stock. Trunks are the biggest part of it, with training jammers close behind and the Miniman toddler range covering learn-to-swim.
Trunks, jammers or briefs?
Sidewinder trunks are the signature cut — a square-leg trunk with a slightly longer side than a classic, giving more coverage without the length of a jammer. They're the most popular thing Funky Trunks makes for boys and the easiest thing to get a reluctant swimmer into.
Training jammers finish just above the knee, stay put through dives and tumble turns, and are the standard choice once a boy moves into squad.
Classic briefs are the racing cut — least drag, still what many club swimmers race in.
Miniman jammers are the toddler range, cut for swimming lessons and made in the same chlorine-resistant fabric, which matters because warm teaching pools are the harshest environment swimwear ever meets.
What is C-Infinity fabric?
C-Infinity is Funky Trunks' exclusive fabric, made from 100% Italian polyester. With no elastane in it there's nothing for chlorine to break down — which is what causes ordinary swimwear to go baggy, fade and thin out. Funky Trunks rates C-Infinity as having exceptional strength and retaining durability well beyond conventional elastane swimwear fabrics. Much of the boys range now uses ECO C-Infinity, the recycled version of the same fabric. In practice the print stays as loud in month six as it was in week one. Our swimwear fabrics guide compares it against Speedo Endurance+ and Zoggs Ecolast.
Getting the size right
C-Infinity is a polyester fabric and won't stretch to fit the way an elastane blend does, so buy to his current size rather than sizing up to get another season out of it — it won't give. Our size charts cover Funky Trunks along with every brand we stock.
Common questions
What is the difference between Sidewinder and Classic trunks?
Both are square-leg trunks. Sidewinder trunks have a slightly longer side length, giving a little more coverage on the thigh. Classic trunks are the shorter, more traditional cut. Fabric and fit are otherwise the same.
What's the difference between Funky Trunks and Funkita?
They're the same company. Funky Trunks is the boys and mens range; Funkita is the girls and womens range. Both use C-Infinity fabric, and prints are often released as matching pairs — useful for siblings.
What are Miniman jammers?
Miniman is Funky Trunks' toddler jammer range, cut for young children in swimming lessons and made in the same chlorine-resistant C-Infinity fabric as the older sizes.
Is Funky Trunks chlorine resistant?
Yes. Funky Trunks swimwear is made from C-Infinity, a 100% Italian polyester with no elastane content, which is what gives it its chlorine resistance. It holds colour and shape substantially longer than conventional elastane swimwear.
