Funkita is the brand girls actually want to wear to squad. The prints are the reason it gets picked off the rack, but the reason it lasts is C-Infinity — Funkita's own 100% Italian polyester, engineered so the colour and the shape survive the chlorine. This range covers girls' Funkita swimwear from toddler through to junior squad, across one pieces, two pieces and toddler styles.

What is C-Infinity fabric?

C-Infinity is Funkita's exclusive swimwear fabric, made from 100% Italian polyester. Because it contains no elastane, there is nothing in it for chlorine to break down — which is what causes ordinary swimwear to go baggy, fade and eventually turn see-through. Funkita rates C-Infinity as having exceptional strength and retaining its durability far beyond conventional elastane swimwear fabrics. In practice that means a Funkita suit worn four or five times a week holds its print and its shape for a full season rather than a school term. Our swimwear fabrics guide compares it against Speedo Endurance+, Arena MaxLife and Zoggs Aqualast and Ecolast.

Choosing a style

One pieces are the biggest part of this range — Diamond Back, Tie Me Tight, Single Strap and Diamond Secure. Diamond Back and Diamond Secure give the most secure hold across the shoulders, which is what you want for squad and racing starts. Tie Me Tight and Single Strap are the more relaxed cuts.

Two pieces suit girls who want the flexibility of separates, either for training or for the beach. Sizing tops and bottoms independently also solves the between-sizes problem that catches a lot of growing swimmers.

Toddler styles are built for learn-to-swim — simple to get on and off, secure straps, and made in the same chlorine-resistant fabric, which matters because warm teaching pools are harder on swimwear than any squad pool.

Getting the size right

Funkita swimwear should feel firm when new. C-Infinity is a polyester fabric, so it doesn't stretch to fit the way an elastane blend does — size to her current measurements rather than buying a size ahead. Our size charts cover Funkita along with every other brand we stock.

Common questions

Is Funkita chlorine resistant?
Yes. Funkita swimwear is made from C-Infinity, a 100% Italian polyester fabric with no elastane content, which is what gives it its chlorine resistance. It holds colour and shape substantially longer than conventional elastane swimwear in a chlorinated pool.

Is Funkita good for squad training?
Yes. The chlorine-resistant C-Infinity fabric is built for frequent pool use, and the Diamond Back and Diamond Secure cuts are designed to stay put through dives, turns and starts. It's one of the most common brands on Australian squad decks.

What's the difference between Funkita and Funky Trunks?
They're the same company. Funkita is the women's and girls' range; Funky Trunks is the men's and boys' range. Both use the same C-Infinity fabric and the prints are often released as matching pairs.

How should I wash Funkita swimwear?
Rinse in cold fresh water immediately after every swim, squeeze rather than wring, and dry flat in the shade. Never use a washing machine, dryer, fabric softener or a hot spa — heat does more damage to swimwear than chlorine does.

How long does Funkita swimwear last?
With regular rinsing and shade drying, a C-Infinity suit worn four to six times a week typically lasts a full season or longer. Rotating two suits so each dries fully between wears extends that further.
