The Time Is Now

As the world gets ready for the London Olympics, one champion who keeps blitzing the junior competitions in and around Brisbane is Eatons Hill, Matthew Stark. A champion in the pool and through his parent’s eyes, Stark is one to watch for the 2016 Brazil Paralympics.

The Past

Born prematurely and later diagnosed with a mild case of cerebral palsy, Matthews’s parents built a family pool specifically for therapeutic use where Matthew showed promising results.

With such a rough start, Matthew has won hearts and was awarded four gold medals at the recent Brisbane Metropolitan Junior Championships after smashing his personal bests in all four strokes in the multiclass division.

The Future

Congratulations to Matthew Stark, we love seeing new and upcoming junior champions smashing their competition and being so involved and motivated in a sport we all love so much! His parents must be so proud and the day he swims in the Paralympics we’ll all be on the edge of our seats watching with anticipation.
