With Spring only days away, it’s time to start thinking about swimming this season. Australia is fortunate to have a great choice of places to swim all through the year. Swimming clubs are the breeding ground for the development of swimmers all over the country.

Joining a local swimming club is a fairly simply process and can basically be done online. We have linked below the Swimming Australia site and also the State bodies for further information.

Before you go ahead with joining a club, be sure to contact the club and arrange a visit before joining. You will find that clubs are run by local volunteers and are more than welcoming to all people that wish to swim.

By joining a club you can often enjoy things like:

  • Club nights – regular events where you can practice your skills learnt at training sessions
  • Swim Meets – held throughout the year you can nominate for meets and race for PB’s
  • Social events – clubs often run social events like Trivia nights, end of season celebrations and cross training
  • Club swim training sessions – this may include swim, dryland, nutrition and goal setting
