Choosing Men’s Swimwear for Your Body Shape

You can wear any swimsuit you like but it does make sense to pick one that flatters your body shape.  Here is just a quick overview of which types of swimwear suits the common body types:

-Athletic – if you have this enviable type of body shape then you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to swimwear.  Almost any type of swimsuit will look great but it is a good idea to stick to the figure hugging designs to show off your physique.  There is not point hiding your natural assets with baggy boardies.  If your legs are shorter than you would like then opt for a brief style suit with high cut legs.  This will help your legs look longer.

-Muscular – if you have worked hard to obtain a muscular physique then you will want to show off a bit on the beach.  You can get some flamboyant posing pouches that will flaunt your assets out on the sand.  Remember though that some of these may not be suitable for the water.  A tight pair of swimming briefs is also a good option and you could choose some eye-catching designs to ensure you get as much attention as possible.

-Slim – if you are slim then you may want to bulk out your figure a bit.  Stay away from tight briefs as these can slim you down even more and instead opt for a good pair of board shorts.  These can help pad out your figure but don’t go too baggy.

-Large – if you have a large, solid body then stay away from tiny briefs as these can look a little lost.  Baggy board shorts can make you look even bigger so these are best avoided as well.  There are some good tight trunks on the market.  These provide more coverage than briefs and a solid colour will suit a larger body shape.  Avoid big patterns though as these can accentuate size.

-Big Tummy – if you have a large tummy then again you should avoid briefs as these can get lost.  Instead off for a good pair of board shorts (not too baggy) or solid colour trunks.  Don’t forget you can always wear a rashie to cover up when you are going to and from the beach if you want to.

-Narrow Shoulders – you can draw attention away from narrow shoulders by wearing trunks, briefs or board shorts with bold, bright patterns.
